The acute lymphoblastic leukaemia is a type of cancer of the white blood cells.  The immature blood cells reproduce in the bone marrow and thus cause damage and death by crowding the normal cells and by spreading to other body organs.  This cancer of white blood cells is most common in children and young adults.  The curable rate in children is much higher than those in adults.

Symptoms of Lymphoblastic Leukaemia :

• Weakness and fatigue
• Anemia
• Frequent fever
• Sudden weight loss and loss of appetite

Treatment of Lymphoblastic Leukaemia :

The treatment of lymphoblastic leukaemia gives better result if detected earlier.  The surgeon aims at reducing the maximum part of the detected cancer cells.  This treatment of lymphoblastic leukaemia includes chemotherapy, steroids and radiation therapy.

• Chemotherapy :  It is the initial treatment of which includes a combination of different treatments.  This therapy includes a usage of various drugs which aims at killing the cancerous cells.
• Radiation Therapy : This therapy is used on the bony areas where with the usage of high- energy rays the cancer cells are being destroyed without causing much harm to the healthy cells. 
• Steroid Therapy : Steroids are drugs and they are mostly used along with chemotherapy to kill the cancerous cells.  Two main steroids used to cure acute lymphoblastic leukaemia are Prednisolone or Dexamethasone.
